On the way back from supper, we were discussing the fact that there's really no reason that an African Gray parrot couldn't run for president. They easily live to be old enough to meet the age requirements, and they have at least the vocabulary and mental skills of - let's not name names, but some of the people who hold political office at present - and most of them these days are born to breeders, not captured from another country, and there's nothing in the Constitution that says they have to be a member of the human species.

Which leads to the question: has somebody out there already named their parrot Psitticine Kane?
