If you could teleport to any destination in the world for one day (during which you have no obligations such as work, family, etc), where would you go?
A. Iceland or Finland - I've heard both are pretty civilized!
If you could swap bodies with anyone in the world for one day, who would you choose?
A. Oh, just about anyone rich and healthy would do.
If you had to take on two new hobbies, what would they be?
A. Probably spinning and yarn-dying, although perhaps learning to do my own electrical wiring would be more useful.
If you could be suddenly fluent in any language, which would you choose?
A. Darn, tough choice. Russian, I think, as the other languages I'd like to know are easier and I could learn them on my own with some effort, whereas Russian is a real bitch to learn the hard way.
If you could make a mythical creature suddenly a real, existing species, which creature would you choose?
A. Depends on which version of mythology we'd get to choose from - some versions of griffins are nastier than others, for example. Chinese dragons would be interesting!
What did you have for dinner?
A. Cherry-almond-fudge ice cream. (The joys of being retired!)
What are you wearing?
A. The usual: cotton long-sleeve shirt, jeans, cotton socks, sneakers (the sneakers change to boots if I'm gonna be on the bike) and of course my glasses, watch, and medical alert tag.
Do you have a gym membership?
A. No. A thousand times no.
What's your favorite store?
A. I don't like shopping enough to have a favorite store; as best I can recall, the happiest I ever was shopping was 30 years ago in the original Barnes & Noble warehouse in NYC. If I have to choose something these days, call it my local yarn shop (LYS): All About Yarn.
