At the start of the year, I'm in the middle of reading:

Jonathan Kellerman's latest in the Alex Delaware series, Rage

a book of useless information called Vital Statistics

Al Franken's The Truth, With Jokes

Terry Pratchett's Soul Music, which I had somehow heretofore overlooked.

Next up on the reading list:

J.D. Robb's Origin in Death

I.B. Cohen's The Triumph of Numbers.

I am in the middle of crocheting and knitting:

baby blanket for a baby to be christened Jan 15th

graduation afghan for a niece who graduated last May

wedding afghan for a niece who got married last June

birthday poncho for a niece who will be 5 in a few weeks

baby blanket for a baby expected in June

a poncho made of cotton yarn for my friend Anita back in Austin

need to finish the matching slipper socks for C & V; I know it's cold in Denver and I want to finish those socks before summer!

Get knick-knacks into curio cabinets

get xmas stuff to storage unit

dig out wicker basket stand, somewhere under stuff in spare bedroom, that used to serve as end table and needs to do so again

get Elfa shelving up on spare bedroom wall, and yarn and fabric onto it

use space freed up thereby to move bookcases from our bedroom to spare bedroom

and use space freed up thereby to put in new closet, by means of going back to IKEA and purchasing Pax wardrobe components.
There, a to-do list for the near future. No five-year plans; I'll try for doing all of the above this month and settle for getting it all done this year :-)

Ha! I like how many of your projects are gifts for events that happened "last" May and "last" June, accompanied by several deadlines fast approaching! Ah, how good it feels to get past the point of caring whether you get things to people on time!
