We have a verbal yes on the house, though since the couple that are selling work different shifts, it will be tomorrow afternoon before they both can sign the contract to ratify it. The picture from the listing:
and a satellite photo - click on the thumbnail to see the larger photo.

So you can see how close it is to everything!
Whee!
We spent a chunk of the afternoon in the MVA, trying to get the titles to the vehicles transferred, only to find out that we were doing things in the wrong order. We have to go get them inspected first. So tomorrow we'll go over to Bob's BMW on Rt. 1 to talk to the insurance agent there, and the repair desk about getting S's bike towed over to get the work done it needs to get it running, and if it's not pouring rain again, I'll get my bike inspected there. However, every indication is that it will be pouring rain again, so the inspection may have to wait a couple days. But we have made some incremental progress, even so.
Some details on the house: two bedrooms on main floor, a third one in basement. Basement also contains laundry room, several closets, and a large den, which has double sliding doors out to the back yard - yes, on that side of the house, the basement opens at ground level. And in the back yard are an above-ground pool, a deck, and a covered terrace. We'll have to build a shed; there is a carport, but no garage. We can store the bikes on the terrace for the nonce, but a large storage shed would be good to have, not to mention reduce the amount of grass we'll have to mow. The den has a large gas-log fireplace in it, and enough light and a vinyl floor that we can pretty much house the buns down there full-time.
The kitchen is not nearly as large as our old one, but that's OK - a lot of the old one was wasted floor space, with a lot of space that couldn't be used because there were 4, count 'em, 4 doorways, on 3 of the walls. The back door to the outside, the wide opening to the foyer, the single-door size doorway to the pantry, and the wide double door to the laundry room. So, only about 2 walls of the Austin kitchen were usable and had cabinet space. This one has as much counter space. Reasonably new fridge; also a chest freezer in the basement.
When we get the home inspection, I'll snap pics and take measurements, so y'all can be inundated with details.
Yeeha!
