Hi to new friends!
Oct. 20th, 2007 03:07 pmI haven't posted in a couple of weeks because it's been a busy couple of weeks, as these things go. I went to a knitting conference on the 11-14th, which ran from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., which is way more than I can actually handle - so I spent the 2 hour lunch breaks quite literally crawling under a table and sleeping on the floor. Even so, when I finished up at 1:30 on Sunday, I wound up coming home, falling asleep, waking up for supper, and falling asleep again, and not waking up till about 3 Monday afternoon.
Some reminders for everyone with chronic illness: get your flu shots. And your pneumonia vaccine. If you don't want to bother with making a doctor's appointment for that, the Minute CLinics at CVS drugstores have them both. Pneumonia can be a killer for those of us who have trouble clearing fluid out of our lungs...

Date: 2007-10-23 04:54 am (UTC)The con included a speech by Kaffe Fassett, the designer; a lecture on how yarns are made, including those nifty self-patterning sock yarns, by Barry Klein of Trendsetter Yarns; a professional fashion show; a student fashion show; book signings by authors, and a huge vendor area. Free samples of yarn; free pattern giveaways; door prize drawings; dinner Friday and Saturday nights. It was really packed. About 1700 people attending. I had a blast. Luckily, a lot of it was sitting down and no sprinting, heavy lifting, walking uphill, etc. was involved. One of the nice things about knitting as a hobby. Even a very full bag of expensive yarn doesn't weigh much.
