if you'll pardon the pun.
The carpet guys got the entire upstairs done in one day. Tomorrow morning the painters will come back to do a couple little things that came to light when the carpet people moved all the furniture.
This evening we took two of the bunnies over to a friend's to board, and two of the piggies went off as well; tomorrow, two more piggies will go to friendly piggysitters. That should get things down to a point where I can manage them.
And I rented a second storage unit, since the first one is pretty much out of room.
Wednesday the Clean Commandos come to detail the place.
Friday the tree guys.
Meanwhile, we had to buy extra garbage stickers - for those of you not familiar with Austin, one's monthly utility bill pays for garbage pickup for one can, provided by the City; you get to pick which size can you want, and pay accordingly. So we pay for a 90-gallon can ordinarily, and that's more than enough - that was necessary when I ran Guinea Pig Rescue and cleaned 20 cages at a time. But usually these days it's over half empty. Not these last couple weeks, though. In cleaning out the old master bedroom so it would be empty for the carpet people today, we filled the garbage can and then started stacking stuff on the back porch for lack of garbage can room. Anyway, when one's cup, or can, runneth over, one can purchase stickers for $2 a piece, which one then sticks on a 30 to 35 gallon plastic bag full of overflow garbage. So I bought 4 of them, and we've pretty well filled three of them already.
Stuff. Old ring binders. Years of unmatched socks. Software that ran on Windows 3.1. Keys we can't identify. Magazine articles I tore out, and now have no idea why I wanted them. Old tubes of lip balm that have melted and reformed in odd shapes. Final exams from my 1999 classes. Shoes that have holes in them - and not just in the soles, either. Towels with holes in them that are too worn through to even serve as bunny blankets any more. Plastic bookshelf thingies that have something sticky spilled all over them. Spare bits of Coroplast too small for anything useful. Old bird toys. Spray bottles saved from cleaning products in case we need to reuse them, and never have. The list goes on.

In other news, there is no real other news. On the way to and from Teresa's house with Gizmo and Fern buns, we passed by a nasty looking auto accident right at the entrace to Westgate Lanes bowling alley; somehow a car had managed to turn completely sideways, as in flipped over on its side, right in the driveway. Don't know how it managed that - how could it have been going that fast in that location? Cars don't tip like SUVs do, they need to be doing maneuvers at higher speeds to overcome a low center of gravity. There were about 8 police cars, 3 ambulances, and three fire trucks. I imagine we'll read about that one in tomorrow's paper.

And we had supper at Vinny's, including we got dessert since it is S's birthday. Happy birthday, you!!

Oh, how I envy you! We are getting closer and closer to M-Day (moving day) and our house is still...not-yet-packed. Or even quasi-organized. *sigh*

I feel such an incredible wave of guilt every time I read about your cleaning. What was it? Two years ago? I gave you cleaning services for Christmas and because of schedules, craziness and my passive/aggressive socializing pattern, I never ever did it. And this is exactly the time when one would need cleaning services. Sadness. Tell me there is something for me to clean before you head East. I always keep promises.
