Words go past my eyes all day
Jan. 17th, 2009 01:12 amand now they go past yours via Twitter:
- 15:45 dynamic highway sign (on Balto. beltway): Inauguration Jan 20/ Expect major delays/ I95 and I495 (no kidding!) #
- 18:06 vanity plate: THE FOG #
- 19:08 current listening: 5 cello pieces by Victor Herbert (who knew? He wrote something besides operetta) #
- 23:17 current listening: Lt. Kije Suite. Mmmmm, tenor sax solo #
- 23:17 vanity plate: SLOT CAR #
- 23:26 current temp 12F-coldest since we moved here. Yes, you flist Yankees, I know you're sneering "wimps" at us. #
- 23:27 currently halfway thru knitting a pair of alpaca-blend gloves for Squirrel. (Yes. that means one glove done.) #
- 23:38 note to self: deciding to try Continental style halfway thru a k1p1 ribbed cuff wreaks havoc with gauge. #
- 23:45 these days there are lots of ways to make socks with circular needles, but gloves are still an intensely double-pointed needles project #
- 23:51 Squirrel is playing air guitar and singing "I got me a hedgehog, and its nosicle is cute, and it's licking my boot." #
- 23:52 have I ever mentioned that I'm the NORMAL one in this household? #
- 00:55 "thumb gusset" is really a very funny-sounding bunch of syllables #

Date: 2009-01-17 02:21 pm (UTC)Oh and I use Continental style all the time, but I "invented" it myself and only later realized that it was a recognized style of knitting/wrapping. I was so proud of myself for figuring out an easier way to wrap, and was somewhat chagrined (and amused) to learn that oh, lotsa people do it that way. But it's still unusual enough that when David was in surgery and I was knitting in the waiting room, a woman who was also knitting got up and walked over to ask me what on earth I was doing, because it sure didn't look like knitting to her!
