We celebrate a secular "Christmas" - so we do the presents thing and all. Let's see, from my friend CHas - thank you Chas, I'll call you back tomorrow! - I got an action figure the Season 1 Dylan Hunt, before "Andromeda" went to pot, and "The Secret Life of Lobsters" from my wish list!!! My folks sent me a sweater; they're given to practical things like that. Well, since we are moving up north next year, I can use a sweater. Actually, since it's below freezing in Austin tonight, I can use it even here. People are using the hats I've made for them! And I received several ornaments I was hoping for, two for our "marine" tree theme, a crab and a seahorse, and two for our things-with-wings theme, an egret and a puffin. Actually, the puffin will fit into marine, too, won't it! Of course, my best present from spouse is the agreement to move up north, an ongoing gift that SU is really getting into - making lists and all that. That really is the happiest present I could get! We picked out some really good wool at our LYS so I can make SU a really nice hat for next winter. I will wait until I have recovered from the recent bout of hat-making, so that I can get into making a nice hat instead of a manically (manicly? not manaically, that's not what I mean) fast hat.

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] angevin2, did you know that the DVD for Monty Python & the Holy Grail has a section where all the dialogue is given subtitles taken from Henry IV Part 2?

Now I can't remember who was asking me about "A Field Guide to Pigs." I tracked my copy down; the author is John Pukite. It's as strange as I remembered.

Off to get some sleep; Gussie GP's family will be coming by xmas AM to pick her up from piggysitting and I've got to clean her cage. Then lunch with Cindy - she wants to cook, OK, we'll let her - and more present-opening, followed by general napping. I have made Cindy a kitty hat, and she will also be getting her annual cat a day calendar, and a bookworm from Giant Microbes. It's safe to say that here; I doubt Cindy will ever get into LJ. She's awfully technophobic for a librarian!

I did know that! But I have not seen it for myself. At any rate, kudos to Python for choosing 2H4 from which to draw their subtitles; that play doesn't get nearly enough love. ;)
