Whoo. Well, that was tiring, but fun.
Those people up in Philadelphia apparently don't care that much about sleep. We left the venue a little after 1 on Saturday morning, and they were still going strong. Went back at 1 Saturday afternoon, and there's a bunch of people playing and dancing again. Random observations: About every third guy there was named John. And a bunch of the rest were named Sean. There were a great many white-haired men with bony knees who felt that proper wear for dancing was polo shirts, shorts, white crew socks, and black leather dancing shoes. The musicians were uniformly wonderful. I resisted the temptation to buy all the CDs; only bought one, which has a jazz version of "Star of the County Down" on it, which I had heard the musicians involved perform live.

Left Saturday evening before dark, got back to Baltimore around 8:30, ate supper, and went to sleep.

I had brought along a bunch of yarn and crochet hooks, and crocheted hats whenever I was just sitting and listening. Many people commented on it and asked questions, often "What are you knitting?" Argh. It did open the way to talk with many lovely people, and a few flakes. (I have a T-shirt that says "What am I? Flypaper for freaks?" The answer is yes.)

Now I have slept a lot more. Time to catch up on friends.
