Random technology impairment

No, I haven't been kidnapped. Our internet connection had been wonky since Tuesday, with only occasional bursts of function, and Thursday afternoon it died entirely. Hence, no posts. The trouble is apparently in our DSL modem, and after a service tech flat-out lied to us when Squirrel Magnet called them yesterday evening, the upshot is that we won't have a replacement modem till Monday. So I'm posting this from Panera, which is open for another half hour - not enough time to check all my mail or read any posts, nor did I bring all the CDs with me to blog our christmas listening. And, since there's no internet connection, there's been lots of listening! So Monday, if Verizon doesn't f*^# it up some more, you'll get a really LONG list of CDs, along with a bunch of stuff aboutour recent musical performances, recent reading, etc. Tomorrow I hope to at least read my email over at Cindy's place.

I'd mutter about switching to cable, but from what I've heard, Comcast's service sucks even worse.

We've had Comcast cable internet for several years and have had virtually no trouble. Therefore, we haven't needed service. Ergo, I can't tell you a thing about their service, but the internet works great.
