bunrabAn earlier book of Allen Steele's, The Tranquillity Alternative. An alternate history, where space travel starts up in the '40's as a result of WW2 events. Written in 1996. Some of the best stuff were the between-chapters interjections, including descriptions of the new season of comedy TV show "Star Trek." And when a bunch of reporters are in the room, they include "Ike Asimov from the Boston Globe." Not a great book, but a good enough story, with a partly-happy ending.
