Cats. Using cat thingy.

We went over to Target this evening, and R & F purchased a lamp for the living room. The store calls it a 5-lamp Medusa. I leave it to you to guess what we call it. S & I purchased a couple of 4-packs of flourescent bulbs for them as a housewarming present; with the new lamp and flourescent bulbs in both it and in the old lamp, the living room is suddenly bright enough to read in, knit in, etc. Especially given the dark red walls, light is needed. And given the trees in front of every window. Which is a nice thing, but does tend to reduce available light. And tablecloth was also purchased, and Rob turned out a very creditable supper for us all; he can cook something besides Special K bars. (Truly, it was an excellent supper, Rob!) Everyone felt momentarily like grown-ups, eating off real plates at a real table with a tablecloth.
Coming from the corner of the living room: "All right, who do I turn in all the spiders to?"
Fade also got a set of pop-up cube thingies for the cats, and a couple of them are actually exploring it. Cats in cubes!
A couple of the RG speakers of this afternoon cancelled, so we only spent a few hours at the RG. Met a few nice people. Met our friends J & B's dogs - the rescued corgi they've had for a year, and the Dandy Dinmont they've had for 3 weeks. If you've never seen a Dandy Dinmont, go look for a picture of one - they are the silliest looking things. Very sweet dogs, well behaved amongst crowds of people.
Tomorrow looks to be the most interesting day of the RG.
For right now, I am trying to shut up the little internal voice that is whining that it wants ice cream.
