[snivel]So few of you have filled in my Johari window. [/snivel] Clearly, I have too much time on my hands if I am worried about this. Just taking a break from sock, actually - can only do 15 rows or so before my fingers need a short rest. Next burst should take me right through the toe and to cast-off; I am feeling lazy enough that I may forgo Kitchener stitch and do a plain graft.

I sure hope you are talking about knitting and not political paybacks !

Just thought I would take this opportunity to say that the box of beautifl caps you sent me have come into their own. they arrived during some warmish weather - we've had a nicer than usual winter - but now temperatures have dropped. I split the box into two donations. One half went to a small church based service just down the street form me and now and then I get passed by someone and I think "hmmmmm I think I recognize that cap.". The other half went to a women's program that helps women and their children who have had to leave their homes because of domestic abuse, eviction, or other reasons often on short notice and without being able to take many of their belongings.

It was a sweet and generous gesture to send those caps and socks and the headband. Ottawa is a happier city because of you ! Thanks again !!!!

Thank you for distributing them!

Yes, I'm knitting socks. I'm not sure why any of us do that, other than that it's fun - it costs between $10 and $20 to buy the yarn for a single pair of socks, and takes a dozen or so hours per sock, depending on what one does beyond the basics. (The slipper socks I sent, made with fat yarn, are different - same method of construction, but a lot less work, and a lot less practical use out of them. And that kind of yarn goes on sale rather more often than real sock yarn does.) Please say hi to the knitters in your BC group from me!

I'm learning to knit specifically so that I can learn to make socks. It's not only madness, it's an addictive madness!

Fade, meet Bill. Bill, meet Fade. Fade, Bill is an incredibly generous BookCrosser who probably owns even more Christmas stuff than I do. Bill, Fade is a fantasy writer, who was employed at a computer games company when I first met her, and who picked up crocheting from me incredibly fast (very gratifying). There, now I have done the polite. We return you to your regularly scheduled knitting.

Consider it done

Although it may be next month. We're moving the meetup this month because it falls on valentime's day and I'm hopeful all the calls for a switch denote that we are a romantic lot in Ottawa...lol

I'm not sure I can make there on the preferred alternte night but whether it is this month or next I will carry your greetings to them !
