traditional christmas night meal
Dec. 25th, 2004 10:09 pmChinese restaurant, of course. Any city I've ever lived in, this is where everybody who can't stand to eat one more meal in the family dining room goes. All the Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, atheists, Eastern Orthodox, etc. We're all at the Chinese restaurants. There's always IHOP, of course, but that can be sort of depressing.
Cindy roasted a chicken for lunch, and sweet potatoes with ginger, and baked apples with raisins and nuts. We went over to the library to feed Dewey the guinea pig and R2D2 the parakeet, since the library is closed Friday through Sunday. And then we watched about 1.5 more showings of Jean Shepherd's A Christmas Story on TBS, took naps, stuff like that. Cindy got me a Get Fuzzy book and some ornaments and edibles. This seems to be an ornament-y year!!
Well, I am almost finished knitting something I've been doing very sporadically for over 6 months, so I think my present to myself will be to sit there and finish it. Three rows to go, I can do that! And one of my New Years resolutions will be never to knit that big a project again.
