Semi-productive flurry of unpacking
Feb. 18th, 2006 07:54 pmWoke up in the middle of the night, unpacked a few boxes until I was tired again. Today I bought some more cheap plastic shelving and other storage stuff, which more unpacking will get done into. Whee! I can see the windows in the spare bedroom now!
I have been re-reading, or possibly reading for the first time, I can't remember, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's A Baroque Fable. I had forgotten, if I ever knew, that it is a combined parody of (a) Gilbert and Sullivan operettas (b) LOTR, the book, and (c) Disney fairy tale movies. The characters burst into perfectly awful songs at the drop of a hat - or nothing at all - and the sheet music is included in the back. I can't tell you how grateful I am that Peter Jackson left the songs from LOTR the book out of the LOTR movies. Anyway, fun to read or possibly re-read. Still have to get to the library!
