Well, darn

The buyer on our Austin house is backing out of the deal. She loses money that she paid for her option on it. But it was not nice of her to wait until the last minute to back out - our agent could have been showing the house this past weekend! Anyway, silver lining is that this automatically gets us out of our contract on the house we offered for here, regardless of mold, since it had a contingency clause in it about having our house under contract no later than July 16. So the only real thing we're out is the time it's taken us to run around doing paperwork so far, plus we need to go over to the apartment office and tell them we're not leaving so soon after all.

With that in mind, we really need to unpack a bit more here than we have so far. We've been coasting. But we need to make the kitchen more usable, so we aren't eating out so much, and I have to get a clear path to the armchair; crocheting and knitting in my computer chair just doesn't cut it.

Oh well. It'll keep us busy for a bit.
