I sold off a bunch of wool yarn, and purchased a whole bunch of cotton yarn, on eBay. I've had really good luck with eBay; I've been using it for over 6 years now!! (Scary thought.) The secret to selling stuff is writing good descriptions and giving reasonable estimates of shipping. There's one woman who wants like $7.95 shipping for a 10-ounce skein of yarn. She was rude to me when I suggested that was a bit high. Both her high shipping and her rudeness to a potential customer may explain why quite a few of her items have no bids. Even though she's sold a lot, there's no telling how much more she would sell if she maybe listened to customers a bit, and didn't try to make money off shipping and handling fees. People will pay more for the merchandise itself when they feel they are getting a good price on shipping!
