Best Paranormal Romances, an anthology. Rather loose definitions of both romance and of paranormal mean that there are some stories in here that aren't romances. There are a few that are all the worst cliches of romance stories, with badly written fantasy elements thrown in, with the icky results you'd expect, but there are a couple of stories that are excellent fantasy stories (the ones that first appeared in the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, to be specific) with Delia Sherman's story being my favorite. Overall, I'd say that neither romance readers nor fantasy readers would be completely happy with paying the trade paperback price for this, but I'll bet it's not going to come out in mass paperback, so you can look for it in your library, as I did.
