2. It is possible to get around the Delaware toll, if you don't mind a 30-minute detour through the side streets of Wilmington. On a nice weekend day in June, it's not bad - takes you right through the middle of the University of Delaware campus. On a weekday during rush hour, I wouldn't do it on a bet.
3. I like to know how to say "thank you" in whatever language goes with a restaurant's food. All the waitpeople at Denny's in Montgomery Village are Arabic of one sort or another. So, the Arabic word for "thank you" is shokran, with a long o, and the accent on the second syllable, and the a is short, as in "ah." Show-KRAHN.
