Pittsburgh is still hilly

We have arrived in Pittsburgh, albeit by car rather than by bike, as it was actively raining when we left Baltimore, thanks to Ernesto. The GPS chose to route us mainly along US Route 30, after only a short while on interstate 70, which would have been a lovely route had we been on the bike but was somewhat annoying in the car; we will try for the interstates going home.

We stopped by the Rivers III RG hotel to register for the RG (Western PA Mensa), but not too much is going on this evening, so we shall return tomorrow, by which time our friends the McI's from Akron should also have checked in. Jim plays the tuba. Tomorrow night we will be making supper with [livejournal.com profile] landley and [livejournal.com profile] fadethecat, in whose spare bedroom we are staying, but the rest of our meals are included in the RG registration fee.

There are cats, hardwood floors, quaint 1930's stairwells and quaint 1930's parking spaces here.

Quaint 1930s parking spaces? Does that mean they're small? Or that they have cool old-fashioned parking meters?

that means mainly non-existent, on a brick road, with narrow, steep, blind driveways at random spots
