Paletas, for those of you who don't know, are mexican popsicles. A new paleta place opened up down the street from us a month or so ago, La Paletera. They have about thirty flavors of paletas, and ice cream and fresh fruit cups as well. So when a real estate agent called and wanted to show our house 10 minutes from the time of the call, we (me, Spousal Unit,

fadethecat) hotfooted down there to get away from the house. I had the coconut paleta, which was terrific - almost all chunks and shreds of coconut, in a base of water, cream, sugar - but mostly the coconut! It was quite munchy.

I wish someone would make an offer on the house already. I bored above crowd to tears earlier today, reading real estate listings aloud -all the houses in this neighborhood that are smaller than ours, and/or asking a higher price - so why is ours still sitting here like a lump? Even after a nice brunch and paletas and knitting, worrying about the house has me anxious most of the time.
