Whether it's worth it depends on how much you like sitting around arguing with people while playing a decently challenging game of Scrabble. It's a social club, mainly. Most chapters have monthly lectures, but the real purpose is to have lunch with people, have supper with people, stand around other people's kitchens drinking tepid soda and eating chips, and play a lot of board games. It's a good way to meet 300 people in a city you've just moved to.
